The Friary

The entrance to the friary is on the right side of the porch in front of the church. A first hall leads, to the right, to the sixteenth-century cloister and to the area currently inhabited by the friars which includes the cells, the refectory, the meeting room and the library; to the left, instead, is the corridor known as the “Saint Bernardino corridor”, a long vestibule whose large windows overlook the central seventeenth-century cloister with its fine well. The corridor gives access to the Oratory of Saint Bernardino and to the area designed by Giacomo Cozzarelli at the turn of the sixteenth century. This section was commissioned by Pandolfo Petrucci and includes the sacristy and the so-called “Lodge of Pandolfo”.
