The community of Franciscan friars are at the centre of the community living in the Scacciapensieri neighbourhood. On the feast of Saint Bernardino on May 21st, and on the feast of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, patroness of the Order, celebrated on November 21st, the community lives days of intense spirituality and brotherhood. The morning Lauds set off days filled with prayers in which the evangelizing mission of the Franciscan friars drives them through the streets of the neighbourhood to recite the rosary. During the feast of Saint Bernardino, the tablet with the Name of Jesus is taken out of the museum and carried in procession through the city. The community animates the friary’s areas reconciling the needs of all those who yearn for a moment of meditation, soul searching and prayer, and the fervent activities for adolescents and youngsters.
Among the activities there are those of the Schola Cantorum, in which the Laboratorio Artistico Musicale Osservanza stages musicals and organizes cycles of musical seminars.
